Principal’s Message
Welcome to Methodist College, Colombo 3 — the oldest private Christian girls’ school in Colombo, a place where heritage, faith, and excellence come together to shape generations of young women.
Established in 1866 by the visionary British missionary Miss Catherine Scott, Methodist College was founded on a bold conviction: that educating girls was essential to transforming families, communities, and the nation. More than 150 years later, her legacy continues to guide us, as we remain committed to providing an education that empowers, uplifts, and inspires. Managed by the Methodist Church in Sri Lanka, the College is deeply rooted in Christian values while warmly embracing students from all religious, cultural, and social backgrounds. This spirit of inclusivity has shaped Methodist College into a vibrant community where unity in diversity is lived daily, and where mutual respect and compassion are central to all that we do. Academic excellence lies at the heart of the Methodist College experience. Offering both local and international curricula, we strive to nurture intellectually curious, confident, and capable learners. Our dedicated staff are committed to recognizing and developing each student’s potential, supported by well-structured Learning Support Units that reflect our belief that every child deserves understanding, encouragement, and opportunity.
